BCHS Esports

In 2018, The Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama High School Athletic Association sanctioned competitive high school esports.  Three games were authorized for competition:  Smite, Rocket League, and League of Legends.  Since then, several more games have been authorized by the AHSAA, including Smash Ultimate, Mario Kart, and Splatoon.  There are two seasons a year; one in the fall and one in the spring.  Each season culminates in a series of playoffs for the state championship.

Bibb County High School formed an Esports team in the spring of 2019 for the inaugural season, and our students have competed against high schools from all over the state.  Currently, BCHS Esports competes in League of Legends, Smash Ultimate, and Rocket League.  Open tryouts are held at the beginning of each semester.
